The UP118E is Boston's highest quality 46" studio, designed by Steinway & Sons in NY. At a higher price point than the UP118S, it has a more refined scale design and radial-placed ribs that give it an unbelievable pure sound. It has Steinway's accelerated action and all-wood action parts (hard-rock Maple, no plastic), giving it the famous ultra-responsive action that Steinway is world-renowned for. This model is also favored by All-Steinway institutions that want better quality uprights in their practice studios.
