Steinway Piano Galleries' parent company, Jordan Kitt's Music, was founded in Washington DC in 1912 by Arthur Jordan and Homer L. Kitt. Originally located on 13th and G Streets, NW, Jordan Piano Company and Kitt's Music proudly serviced Washingtonians for decades before becoming Jordan Kitt's Music and expanding into other markets - including Atlanta under the Steinway Piano Galleries banner.

Steinway Piano Galleries was originally acquired by Jordan Kitt's from Barbara Kirby, a long-time Atlanta Steinway dealer and founder of the Atlanta Steinway Society. Steinway Piano Galleries has a history of long-term relationships with such venerable institutions as the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Kennesaw State University, Spivey Hall and Georgia State University, to name just a few.
