Essex Designer Uprights - Mid-Priced Design by Steinway & Sons
Designed by Steinway & Sons in New York, the Essex Designer Uprights are encased in the most exquisite cabinets resulting from Steinway's partnership with with famed American furniture maker Henredon. Featuring such design details as dentil crown mouldings along the lid, detailed carving on front and sides, and even Queen Anne legs on certain models.
Along with heirloom furniture quality, they also comprise Steinway's most significant design patents and features, developed over their 160+ year history. Designed to compete in the entry- to mid-price ranges, Essex designer uprights are infused with much of Steinway's DNA, including over 30 design patents and innovations from the storied New York piano manufacturer.
Essex designer uprights are all built with solid, straight-grained Spruce soundboards using Steinway's patented tapered design for bigger, fuller sound. For maximum stability and longevity, the Steinway patented back construction consists of massive beams, placed precisely where the highest tension points are. The action geometry is identical to Steinway's patented accelerated action with all hard-rock maple wood action parts (no plastic) for the best tactile feel and response. Steinway's patented multi-laminated, quartersawn maple pinblock gives the piano superior tuning stability.
The Essex designer upright is ideal for a home where both cabinetry and high quality in a reasonable price range are important. Each instrument comes with a 10 year parts and labor warranty and matching bench. Each Essex is prepped and tuned prior to delivery by a Steinway-trained expert staff technician. A second complimentary tuning in the home or studio is included within 60 days after delivery.
Each new Essex upright also includes a full trade-up certificate to a new Steinway grand or upright piano anytime within 10 years of purchase, thus guaranteeing your trade value.
